Eating & drinking
Five minutes away is the village of Almogia which has several interesting restaurants, including a pizzeria, all of which offer a take away service.
Beyond Almogia there are more restaurants to be found in Puerto de la Torre, and if you venture on into Malaga, the world is your oyster (or almeja, depending on your taste).
In the other direction is the hamlet of Pastelero which has two restaurants, the second, Venta Pastelero is by far the best value around, your host, Paco will make you very welcome.
The country hotel, La Posada des Torcal is twenty minutes drive away in the direction of Antequera and is wonderful for that special occasion, there is a British chef and an international menu to suit all tastes.
Almogia is ideally positioned to visit Antequera and its monuments and Wolf Park; Malaga with its cultural history (and lots of shops!) and links very easily with the motorway network giving easy access for day trips to Cordoba, Sevilla, Granada and the Sierra Nevada and its winter skiing. The Sol y Nieve ski resort has an excellent, modern lift network with good access for skiing from 3000 metres and vertical descents of 1000 metres.
